Alternatives To Academic Education

Posted in: Education | Comments (0)

Academic education is becoming less and less popular among those who want to effectively combine  their schooling, career and personal life. One of the ways to reach high results in education with no harm to your other personal priorities in life is alternative education also known as non-traditional education.  It seems to me this is just a question of time when alternative types of education will become the primary forms of education. Opinions on what kind of school provides the best education differ considerably.  But the tendency is that more and more people these days are looking for more alternative ways of education.  More on page 5

Who is More Security Savvy Online?

Posted in: Technology | Comments (0)

Did you know (this is interesting): women are more security savvy than men. In compliance with PC study nearly a half of all males use one and the same password for every website they visit. Meanwhile only a quarter of women use the same password for all websites. These statistics indicates that female Internet users are more password savvy than men. Moreover, nearly 60% of men open links and attachments without preliminary checking them for provenance while only 48% of women use this insecure practice. This data may sound strange especially if taking into consideration that men are showed by the survey to be better informed about online risks.

The Software Development Company referring to the research firm Superbrands published the list of the UK’s strongest consumer brands. Superbrands ranking is based on the views of 2100 consumers. Posted in: Interesting | Comments (0)

I can understand people’s intention to show off their speaking knowledge and skills. However, if you’re going to put a piece of some complex material on your website and want your potential customers to read it, it is better to keep it simple and short. Cheapest Cities I Would Probably Afford to Live in…

Posted in: World | Comments (0)

That’s a good question: if I had to move to live and work in another city in another country, which of them would I consider: most expensive or least expensive ones? Well, regarding my current income and the current economy state I would probably opt for the city where I could save more of my budget. That is where Mercer’s Survey of Worldwide Cost of Living 2009 is brought into play and may help to decide. Even though some of these places are not my dream destinations because of high crime rates and other problems, they are very economical to live in.

Risky Blogging

Posted in: Social Media | Comments (0)

I do love blogging and I like that I don’t actually think much of what somebody may think about what I’m going to post. I post everything that comes to my head and I think it’s good. To my huge regret, my “counterparts” from some countries are not so lucky as they have to think twice before posting their thoughts if they don’t want to face the music for their blogging.

Media and Ethics

Of course, it would not sound surprising if I told you that you trust opinions of people you know more than opinions left on blogs or social networks. Even though people are spending time online more than ever, we still prefer to trust the opinions of those who we know well and who we trust. More on page 232
