You think that the vacancy is already yours and you are radiating confidence. You were instructed how to behave with your employer during the interview, you know all the tricky things about nodding, smiling and eye contact. Your outfit is flawless and appropriate to the event. But don’t forget to check your palms before endowing your employer with pleasant and animated face: sweaty palm may become a real obstruct on your way to get the job.

It sounds surprising but your handshake is very essential for your recruiters. When you shake hands with an employer upon the meeting it’s two times more likely that he or she will remember you than if you didn’t conduct this kind of a ritual. Your handshake is one of your primary attributes. It is commonly accepted in the USA and Europe that a male handshake should be firm. Those with weak handshakes are usually regarded as wimps or diffident people. There are just some tips to conduct a proper handshake:

- Don’t be too aggressive with your handshake so not to crunch the bones of the employer’s hand. Your physical strength is not the main priority

- Don’t clasp the hands with your prospective boss like he’s your pall because he is evidently not

- Don’t make a “dead fish” of your hand. Your confidence should be seen in all your gestures and mimics

- If your hands are usually cold as ice, warm them a bit before shake someone’s hand so as not to be associated with something snaky and lifeless

- Show to the world your entire palm so not to have your fingers fractured by the firm clasp of another person’s hand

-  Use talcum powder if your hands are sweaty

- Check out beforehand the rings on your hand. Firm handshake with massive rings on your handshake may be a real torture for those who clasp your hand

- Make it sure that your hands are clean and manicured

- Accompany your handshake with a friendly and warm smile

Obviously, your knowledge, your skills, experience and personal qualities will always be the primary factors. Still, you should always pay much attention to the details, because if it happens that your competitor possesses nearly the same qualities as you do, here the details that will be brought into play.
