Who is More Security Savvy Online?
Did you know (this is interesting): women are more security savvy than men. In compliance with PC study nearly a half of all males use one and the same password for every website they visit. Meanwhile only a quarter of women use the same password for all websites. These statistics indicates that female Internet users are more password savvy than men. Moreover, nearly 60% of men open links and attachments without preliminary checking them for provenance while only 48% of women use this insecure practice. This data may sound strange especially if taking into consideration that men are showed by the survey to be better informed about online risks.
Now to Europeans. Even though Brits are believed to be the most active Internet users in Europe, 30% of them never update their security software. Comparing to other European countries Germans and the French are much more cautious: nearly only 5% of them don’t update their security software on regular basis. Brits are also the leaders in surfing the web without online security protection. However, the French are believed to be most likely to use the same password for all websites they visit.
I thought it would be interesting to conduct the similar personal test: I counted the number of all the websites I visit and that require passwords and then analyzed how many different passwords I use to enter those websites. The results are sad but I’m not going to expose them to you. For security reasons
